Gantt Chart Below is a screenshot of the Gantt chart I created before I started the production of the website. I created this so that I had a clear understanding and perspective of what I needed to do and how I can complete the necessary tasks in an organised and timely manner. I began by organising the Gantt chart in three sections: Pre production, production and post production. This was just another measure to ensure that I am organised during the process of creating the website. The first section, pre production, included tasks such as going over and considering the client needs, making diagrams and mood boards and planning the content going into the websites. This was for the sake of knowing how I wanted my website to look and what sort of information I wanted to be present on there. The second section, production, was the more practical part of the making of the website. This included the actual making of it and the addition of functioning buttons and interactive features. This a...

Justification of interactivity The interactivity on my website serves multiple purposes and can bring various benefits to the client. One of the main types of interactivity on your website is Navigation Interactivity. The header with functioning buttons allows users to easily navigate to different pages on the website, such as the home page, about page, gallery page, contact page, and blog page. This type of interactivity is essential in making it easier for users to find the information they are looking for and improving the overall user experience. Another type of interactivity on your website is Engagement Interactivity. This type of interactivity aims to keep users engaged with the content on the website. The two interactive gallery features, one containing embedded videos and the other containing images with descriptions, provide an engaging and interactive experience for users. This can help to increase their engagement with the content and keep them on the website for longer. Ad...

P5A: P5B: Feedback from client that has reviewed and tested the website: "PROS - Great readability, darker low opacity box with white text gives good contrast and makes the text easy to read. All buttons take you to the correct pages - increasing the user interactivity. Distinct style that's consistent throughout the whole website. Everything is aligned correctly with no anomalous spacing. Blog and contact page included - adding more user interactivity. Overall an extremely well put together website which highlights your key skills and talents in the field. CONS - No alt-text on the images (or from what I can see), which can be hard for people with visual impairments to access. On the blog page, one of the blogs is called "How to started editing" which is grammatically incorrect. Also on this blog page, the text is a little difficult to read, maybe increase the kerning with the letters. Lastly, the website has a slower load up time, this could be due to some un-optim...

Legal and Ethical considerations When creating a digital portfolio website, there are several legal and ethical issues I need to consider in order to ensure that the content of the site is legally and ethically sound. Copyright Infringement: One of the main legal concerns with creating a digital portfolio is ensuring that all content on the site is either original or properly licensed. This means avoiding the use of copyrighted images, videos, or music without obtaining proper permission. Privacy Concerns: Another legal and ethical concern is ensuring that personal information of others is not being collected or shared without their consent. This includes things like email addresses, phone numbers, and other personal information. Copyright: Copyright Infringement is the act of using someone else's work as your own. This is a serious ethical issue and should be avoided when creating a digital portfolio. Make sure that all work on the site is original and properly credited. Misrepres...

Specification Client needs: Considering that I, the one that will also be producing the interactive media product for this brief, am also the client and target audience, I will be tailoring the content, design, and other assets of the product to fit to my liking. I have decided that my interactive product will be a website that serves as a personal digital portfolio, containing my information, work that I have produced and other content that can be included in a portfolio. In terms of appearance, I would like my website to contain a wide variety of bright, vibrant and abstract colours and patterns as it fits the style of the content and work that I produce (this will leave an impression on the kind of work I create to the user viewing the website). I would like to include up to 5 different pages that will all serve a different purpose, these include: a home page that contains my showreel as an introduction, an about me section that will further describe myself to the user, a ga...

Comparing and contrasting delivery platforms In P1, I was tasked to describe up to 3 different existing media products and cover the purposes of each one: I chose to describe Dead By Daylight (video game), Instagram (social media) and Netflix (entertainment), as they are all relatively popular media products that are used quite frequently today. Considering that each of these media products are different to each other, there are a wide range of delivery platforms that each of them can be accessed and used on. Netflix is a subscription-based streaming service that offers a wide variety of TV shows, movies, and original content. The platform uses a streaming format, which allows users to watch content over the internet without having to download it to their device. Netflix is accessible on a range of devices, including smart TVs, game consoles, smartphones, and tablets, making it a convenient way for users to watch their favourite shows and movies on-the-go. Dead by Daylight, on the othe...
